Bullet revealing text tutorial
How to make a cool gun firing a bullet to reveal text.
for other great tutorials and gfx go to www.rebelarts.net
1.)make a new slide and color it black, put some cool text in the right and leave some space in the right.
2.) make another layer that’s also black and the same height and a bit smaller width
(here it is, only colored blue.)
3.)make a bullet at the edge of the black in a new layer facing right. And then merge the layer down. (layer>merge down.)(note- make sure the bullet is smaller than the barrel of your planned gun.
Here’s a bullet you can use.)
4.)make new layer with the gun your going to use. Make sure it’s barrel covers the bullet.(here’s the gun I used.)
5.)make another layer and use a brush to make some yellow/white around the barrel. Then go to filters>blur>motion blur with about these settings. (it varies a lot, check what yours looks like first.) here’s what I made (except I turned the blue to black.)
6.)make the blur invisible.
7.)hit ctrl shift m to go to animation. Go to your animation bar (if you don’t see it got to windows>animation.) and duplicate the frame. Go to the second frame and move the bullet all the way across the screen.
8.)select the first frame and click the tween button, use these settings. (note-more frames=slower but smoother, less frames=faster but choppier.)
9.)go back to the second frame and make the little yellow blur visible, also give the last and first slide a bit of a delay. (I used these settings.)
10.)here’s what I got.
11.)enjoy!

What would be cool is if You got a sig with liek a cs guy on it and from his bullpup or w/e have smaller bullets chipping away at the text and have the bullets richoet off of the text , then the text disegrates and says something else., That would be rather large in file though. |

Yeah, if you have HL-2, you have source editing tools, so you have source guy models. |

don't have it. here's what I got (I could only find smgs.)
continous fire is really hard. If someone has a guy with pistols or something with burst fire I would REALLY appreciate it. (and The animation would look MUCH better. trust me, I tried doing the smg's like burst and it looked good, but it wasn't accurate.) |

Doggida if you are a noob that must make me severly retarded Some of the tutorials you have posted are uber cool, and I am looking for ways to use them. This tutorial is a prime example.

I have the game. Where would i find these tools, and what would I do with them once I've found them? Secondly, I play Call of Duty and I would love to be able to use this effect with some C.O.D. models...is there a way to do this using similar tools in the C.O.D. game? Thanks for all the time & effort you have put into these tutorials. Keep them coming for us "authentic" noobs. |
